Blue big loves the Pups !Help Bjorn Find His Forever Home 🐾We’ve picked up bins at North Nova SPCA for years — but today, our visit came with a few extra tail wags. That’s where we met Bjorn — a gentle giant with a heart as big as his paws. This XL American Bully Mix is two and a half years old, with a reddish-brown coat, calm eyes, and a personality that’s equal parts strength and sweetness. He’s best suited for a home with older teens and adults (14+) who can appreciate his size and gentle nature. The North Nova SPCA, along with their Thrift Store next door, relies on community support — not government funding — to care for incredible animals like Bjorn. We’re proud to serve their entire building and see firsthand how much heart goes into their work.Joining us for the photo today:– Rebecca MacDonald, SPCA Manager– Tammy Plante, Full-Time Shelter Coordinator– Jeff Wadden, Eastern 2.0 Waste Systems (watch for his spotlight post soon!)🐶 Visit the shelter or their thrift store — and maybe meet your new best friend.Learn more or donate at novascotiaspca.ca.Let’s help Bjorn find the home he’s been waiting for. ❤️ ... Thank you to John and Joe! 💙💙💙Alex MacDonald Motors — A Local Legacy That Still Runs Full ServiceSince 1968, the MacDonald family name has been part of life on Post Road. Brothers Joe and John MacDonald carry on what their father, Alex MacDonald, started more than fifty years ago — first with his AMC Jeep dealership in Marshy Hope, and now with Alex MacDonald Motors, still proudly family-run.They’re the oldest Irving distributor in the area and the only full-service gas station left in Antigonish — the kind of place where someone still comes out to give you a hand. Whether you need a propane refill, a quick check under the hood, or just a friendly chat at the pumps, this is where service still means something.Joe also serves as Fire Chief for Barneys River, another way the family keeps giving back to the community that’s supported them all these years.💙 Big Blue tips its hat to Alex MacDonald Motors — keeping Antigonish rolling since 1968. ... Rob is the man ! 👌🏻👍🏻💪🏻Meet Rob Pauls — five years with Big Blue and still rolling strong 💧If you see Big Blue out on the road, there’s a good chance Rob Pauls is behind the wheel. Rob handles liquid waste for Eastern 2.0 and BL Environmental , and he’s been at it with Jeff Dee for almost five years now. Before that, Rob spent close to three decades in retail — from the old IGA beside the pub with Len Robertson, to SaveEasy, SuperValu, and Superstore, where he worked his way up to meat manager. After all those years, he was ready for a change — somewhere smaller, where people appreciate what you bring to the table.Off the clock, Rob loves four-wheeling — he’s a Polaris guy, always has been, always will be. He’s gearing up for the Annual Stevie MacInnis Memorial Rally with the Eigg Mountain Trails Association, one of his favourite rides of the year. And when he’s not out on the trails, you’ll probably find him at the Justamere Café, digging into his favourite Big Breakfast and catching up with folks around town.Rob keeps it simple: “I just love meeting people and working hard.”That about says it all. ...
